Statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, and cancer genetics. Current efforts in my lab focus on the design of human, population-based genetic studies and the application and development of statistical genetic methods to identify genes underlying predisposition to hormonally sensitive cancers (including those of the breast and prostate) and variation in related, intermediate quantitative traits such as breast density, an established risk factor for breast cancer.
